Privacy & Data Policy

Naidis is built from the ground up with a local-first philosophy. All core Obsidian plugin features—such as YouTube transcript extraction, local note indexing, local AI via Ollama, and spaced repetition—run 100% locally on your machine without transmitting notes to our servers. This policy explains how data is handled when you use optional Cloud Sync and Mobile companion features.
1. What Clip Data Is Stored
When you use the Naidis web clipper, mobile app, or cloud synchronization service, your data is processed and stored exclusively on secure Cloudflare infrastructure:
Structured clip metadata is stored in Cloudflare D1 (relational SQLite database):
- Source URL and page title
- Clip timestamp and read status
- User account ID and unique clip identifier
- Content length and tagging metadata
Clean extracted article content and note bodies are stored in Cloudflare R2 object storage:
- Extracted clean Markdown text
- Parsed readability output
- Synchronized clip blobs for mobile access
- Encrypted at rest using industry-standard AES-256
2. Data Retention & Downgrade Policy
We believe in giving you complete clarity and time to transition your data:
Subscription Downgrade Policy
If your active subscription ends or your account downgrades from Pro to the Free tier:
- 30 Days Grace Period: On downgrade, existing clips remain readable 30 days so that you can sync all your captured articles to your local Obsidian vault without data loss.
- Purge after 30 days: After 30 days following a downgrade, clips exceeding the free tier allocation (20 clips/month) are permanently purged from R2 storage and D1 database rows.
- Local Vault Notes are Untouched: Any notes or clips already saved in your local Obsidian vault are stored locally on your file system and are never touched, modified, or deleted by our cloud service.
3. Account Deletion Path
You retain absolute ownership and control over your personal data.
Complete Account Removal
When you initiate account deletion:
- Wipes Rows and Blobs: Account removal wipes rows+blobs permanently—all associated D1 database records and R2 object blobs are immediately and irreversibly purged from our Cloudflare infrastructure.
- No lingering backups: We do not retain residual copies of your clipped content once the deletion request executes.
- How to request: You can delete your account from your user settings or by contacting
support@naidis.dev. All requests are processed promptly without friction.
4. Third Parties & Payment Processing
- •Cloudflare: Hosts our serverless API Workers, D1 database metadata, and R2 markdown storage.
- •Lemon Squeezy: Acts as our Merchant of Record and handles secure subscription billing. We never see, process, or store your credit card or payment credentials.
- •No Ad Networks: We do not sell your personal data, nor do we run third-party advertising tracking networks.
